The challenge criteria was to use lime green, the word 'really' and fabric .... I may have taken the term fabric out of the square slightly though - I used tissue!

Am absolutely loving how it turned out :)

A little late, but better than never!

I've started scrapping again :) There was a serious lack of inspiration and motivation throughout 2010 but it's back in spades.

There's been a few developments in my scrappy travels on the web, but I'm pleased to say that I'm back at my old stomping ground Purplescraps and I'm a new member of the recently unveiled forum Chat with Charm -- a fantastic new forum! I'd highly recommend you visit both sites, check them out and hopefully stay awhile!

The other BIG development lately is that I'm having another baby ♥ Yep, number 2 is in the works! Due early October and I couldn't be happier. The mojo resurgence is more than a passing coincidence with my new pregnancy -- I didn't want my 2nd baby to not have albums to look through as they grow up, hence my return to the craft.

So without further ado, I have some new favourite challenge blogs, a lot of new scrappy friends to chat with, and a countdown to a new squishy bundle of love :)

Giving a quick update

Well I'm really rather embarrassed to admit that since my last post, I haven't scrapped a *single thing* :o

It's not for lack of motivation, it's more so to do with my commencement of an external Nursing degree which has resulted in pretty much any of my previous scrapping time being relegated to study time.

Semester is over in a few weeks so I might try to get something knocked together then, although I don't like my chances because I'm relocating in two weeks as well!! I know!! Crazy right??

I've had a wonderful time here in the outer suburbs of Brisbane, but it's time to get serious - there are a lot of great schools and support services for ASD families on the Coast, and it's more to the point where my parents live and they're just chomping at the bit to have us closer (and so am I to be honest, I've not had a 'break' for over 4 years).

So hopefully when I'm settled (for good! No more moving!), then I'll be able to get some scrapping done - after all, I need to put Bon's kits to good use don't I :)

Well, the Game On! shenanigans over at Bons have almost finished, so things will be settling down again (possibly lol) when Bon returns on the 12th Feb. In the meantime, we're still having a ball with challenges, LO creations and games.

That's right! After being encouraged by my girls over at Bons, I decided to submit my very first LO.

Well wouldn't you know it - I got an email from them a little over a week later saying that they want to publish it! It's a big step for me, plus having my work in print will make me feel just that little bit famous LOL

Now I can't share the entire LO with you (that would be a big NO NO!), I will however share a small snippet .. just to whet your appetite! I've also created another few LOs as well and you're going to see ALL of them so don't worry too much about being starved!

Scrap attack!

Well Bloggers, I'm happy to report that in the New Year, I've already scrapped 4 LOs!

It all started when I received word that a phenomenally generous and anonymous person had gifted me a SIX MONTH kit subscription at Bons Scraps! -- I was so excited that my mojo exploded, hence my pumping out 4 LOs over the space of 3 days :)

I've already made a post about it on the forum, but I'd also like to take a second opportunity to profusely thank my scrapping benefactor ♥ who's given me reason to smile far more than usual!

Here are the LOs that I've created, and there's been a suggestion made that I submit 'Birth to Four' to the mags which I've taken under advisement ... I'd love to hear what you think as well ;)

So here they are!

I'm currently working on some cards as well, which will be donated to Giovanna Scott's Sensory Room fundraiser. Will be sharing those, and any more LOs, in the coming few days.

Welcome to 2010!

Gosh it feels strange to be in 2010 .. the 'noughties' certainly seemed to go by quickly.

In honor of the new decade, and upon a challenge issued over at Bons Scraps by Felicity (owner of the Her Hand blog), this blog post will be dedicated to my 9 most memorable scrapping pieces, be they photos or LOs.

So without further ado, here they are (in no particular order).

1. A whimsical type LO using a beautiful butterfly I received in a RAK from Megan ♥ (note that what appears to be the flash across the photo is actually the focus of my picture -- it was how the sun hit through the tree canopy)

4. A beautiful moment at Kaleb's Autism Kindy XMas breakup

8. Our first XMas tree, which I am quite proud to say was put together and decorated by moi!

9. This is a favorite both due to the LO design and because of the photo I got to use .. my first 'macro' shot!

Santa Claus is coming to town ...

So you'd better not shout, and you most certainly better not cry ;)

I thought I'd share some of my festive cheer with you all this week, I haven't had much motivation to get Christmas-y, but would you know it, after doing some last-minute gift shopping today I'm choc full of spirit!

I will admit to not having put up the Christmas Tree yet, but seriously! With an autistic toddler in the house who is fascinated with all that Christmas entails (read; wants to touch absolutely everything that sparkles!), I felt it safer to put up the tree on Christmas Eve while the terminator is sleeping. I quite like the idea because it means less tinsel to vac up, AND a very excited boy waking up to find the living room transformed into his own personal wonderland ♥ His presents will be wrapped sometime tonight *fingers crossed* They're currently hidden away in the garage. One large present I'm not going to even bother with wrapping, I'll set it up outside (it's a sand and water play table with umbrella), all ready for the big day.

As for the rest of my family, their presents were bought months ago - I feel quite proud to be THAT organized. There's a fair amount of hand-crafted goodness to go into their gifts but I did succumb to the commercialism and topped up their presents with retail wonders. We'll be having Christmas lunch at my parents place (and staying the night to 'do' Boxing day with them as well), yet I haven't been allocated a Christmas dish to bring with me eeek! I was thinking of making up a trifle or some truffles .. will have to check in with the Captain (ie. my mother) on that one.

Last but not least, I've participated in a Secret Santa group over at Bons Scraps, and have taken extraordinary delight in putting together her present :) It wasn't easy, but there should hopefully be a big smile when it's unwrapped.

Gosh it has been a long time between updates hasn't it! It wasn't intentional (family loss), and now I'm back and better than ever .. I hope.

I'd better update with the most important news first - the December Cybercrop at Bon's Scraps is scheduled for Friday 18 Dec and here is the timetable format we'll be following on the night:

8:30pm - welcome drinks and xmas photos
8:45pm - bingo
9pm - sketch
9:15pm - scraplift
9:30pm - xmas trivia - will continue over the weekend

Plenty to inspire you, and as always there will be some great LOs created by the Design Team to give your mojo a shove.

Welcome to Bon's new Design Team!!

A big round of applause and huge congratulations go to Skye Johnson, Felicity Wilson, Charmane Koch, Sandie Mallon and also to Malinda Gardner who will be a Guest DT member while Sandie takes some much-deserved RnR!

The Cyber-Crop was a great success, as always, with lots of great challenges. In particular, the new DT members set their first challenge to us! Lots of inspiration to be had, Flis gave us this scraplift challenge, Skye set a 321 Countdown challenge and Mal gave us a wonderful Treasure Hunt challenge.

All challenges are to be uploaded before Tuesday October 6th, which gives us all a week of scrapping to our hearts content.

As for my scrapping share, I don't have any LOs just yet but by golly do I have some photos to share :D Charm set us another photo challenge this CC and I'm having great fun getting the camera out more than I usually would in order to participate -- so here are my few favorites so far this week:

It's Cyber-Crop time!!

Well, I daresay nobody gets as excited as I do when it comes to 'that time of the month' ... no I'm not talking about 'that'!! I'm talking about Bon's Scraps Cyber-Crops :D

It starts TONIGHT and I can guarantee you that it will be a great one: the announcement of the newest Design Team members will also be tonight and according to the grapevine, the DT new additions will be responsible for setting some of the challenges -- EXCITEMENT CENTRAL!!!

Now normally the timetable will include a very fun game of Bingo, Bon's Color Challenge, a Sketch Challenge and a Blind Scrapping Challenge. Bon's Color Challenge will be a feature of this month's CC, although I don't know what the DT will have in store for us with their challenges!!

I also have another LO to share with you -- it's taken me awhile to be inspired enough to scrap this particular photo, but here is the end result:

I also went shopping this week to pick up some new products -- I just couldn't help myself once I got to my LSS .. I went a little crazy :p

Although I haven't been able to scrap this weekend (due to an awful heatwave), I have some more LOs to share --- these are all for Bon's Scraps monthly challenges. There are some challenge blog LOs that I need to do, but I haven't started those yet!!

My first is the 'Room of the Month' -- we had to take inspiration from this room

The next challenge was the 'Write Now' challenge, set by Charm -- it had to follow an 'outdoors/spring' theme, with our LOs featuring rounded corners, at least 3 different types of alphas, and bling from Bon's shop.

Quick update ... and some BIG NEWS!

Normally I'd wait until I had a chance to share quite a few LOs before updating again, but in light of recent events I just can't wait!!!

Firstly, the big news ......
BON'S has been re-vamped and is now bigger and better than ever before (and pinker!) Come on over and check it out :)

Secondly, I've been creating all weekend and although (again) it's currently only ONE LO that I can share with you all, rest assured I have quite a few more on my scrapping table under construction ... all will be revealed in the next 24hrs so stay tuned!

Lots of techniques used in this LO -- I wanted to try my hand at a quite detailed embellishment cluster using more than just flowers and tags, and I think the end result is rather great! I haven't used chipboard for a while, so adding the chipboard heart (and putting rubons over it) was very enjoyable.

What do you think? Does it pass muster?

Another Update

Seeing as how I've recently scrapped, I felt it only fair to share it with you all sooner rather than later (or as my previous posts show, much, MUCH later!)..

I've thoroughly enjoyed the past few weeks, as my style is slowly evolving and I'm being inspired constantly by the clever chicks over at Bon's

The third round of competition for the Design Team is underway, with a big congrats to all those who made it through yet another tough elimination: Felicity, Dannii, Megan, Mal, Kristy, Kerry, and Skye --- BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE!! Commiserations to those talented gals who didn't quite get there.. you've all inspired me beyond belief with your creations and I'm sure nothing will change in the near future :)

As far as sharing goes, yes I know it is only ONE LO, but I really love how it came together -- I used what leftovers I had from Bon's monthly kits (fantastic buys and so chock full of goodies you'll wonder if maybe you should be paying more!!) .. I'll be nice though and share some recent photos though so you don't feel too disadvantaged LOL

I need to update again, of course with life being so busy I haven't had a chance until now :)

I've been trying to scrap as often as time and mojo allow, although I still would've liked to get more LOs finished!! Still, I've completed a lot more LOs than I thought given my time constraints.

Bon's Scraps Design Team Comp will commence on Monday 24th August!

If you are interested in applying make sure your name is in the Design Team registration thread HERE

First and foremost forum interaction is a big part of being on the Design Team...so get yourself into the wonderful forum and chat up a storm!

Whilst the competition is running please try to interact on the forum the amount that you would usually...

There will be 2 spots up for grabs each with a 2 month trial leading to a 12 month contract.

The comp will run for 4 rounds.

If you make the design team you will receive an exclusive monthly kit (which are always GORGEOUS!!) and also a store discount, in exchange you will create an average of 3 set pages a month.

Full Design Team expectations will be posted shortly.

Welcome to Stacie's ScrapShelf!

This blog was conceived with the idea of being able to share my passion with anyone and everyone that's willing! I have a personal blog but I really needed to separate personal chatter from scrapbook chatter.

I'm still in the stages of full blog facelift so you may see some gradual changes along the way but it's all very new and exciting!!

A little bit about me for those of you who don't know:

I'm a mother of one. My little boy Kaleb is the focus for most if not all of my layouts and just loves the camera!

Amateur photography is another hobby of mine and I always try to enhance my photographs in some way, whether it be a slight PS adjustment or a full make-over!

Favourite products of mine are American Crafts Thickers (LOVE them!), KaiserCraft Bling, Basic Grey papers, KDD chipboard elements and of course my Bazzil cardstock.

I tend to find inspiration anywhere and everywhere! PageMaps have some fabulous sketches that I use and I'm also frequently inspired by other people's layouts and by advertisments, TV ads .... like I said, anywhere and everywhere!
